Tyler's 3rd birthday. I found a layout i really liked over at the ck online idea gallery. I got a bunch of digital goodies yesretday, including a distressing kit over at scrap artist so this is what I came up with. Pop over to my gallery at SBB to see credits for all little doo-dads sprinkled around the page :) Posted by Picasa

A birthday, hospital stay, and a wedding...

Ok so so so so so much has happened since I last posted. I ended up going back to the hospital on friday with high blood pressure so there was another 5 hour stay of boredom, although I was able to catch up on Springer (ew, and the only channel that comes in decent at the hospital of course)

saturday came and things were fine until about 7pm when John decided to finally go and pick up the stuff for Tylers Birthday party. Well it was about thsi time that he says to me "Look in the phone book and find a Buzz lightyear costume for me" HA!!! ya right buddy! Now if he had listened to me about oh, 8 weeks ago, we might have been able find one, but 7pm the night before the party? Dream on. Then he calls me from Sam's club and says they can't make the cake we ordered two months ago (and were asured that it would be done) so now we have to find another buzz lightyear cake by noon tomorrow...great. John's mom is flying in that night so we're scrambling around making sure everything is clean and picked up. Then off to the airport.

Sunday is thr party and surprisingly, everything went off without a hitch. Only 3 of the 10 kids we invited showed up, but that was ok. I think any more would have been to much. And of course they were all girls. Three adorably cute girls. Oh ya, I ofund a cake! I called Ralph's (grocery store) totally thinking they would tell me the same thing everybody else did ("our cake decorater isn't in today", "oh we dont' do buzz") but they were so happy to help , I think they felt sorry for us lol. They made us a fresh brand new beautiful cake just in time

the Bounce house guy came and set things up in a flash I felt a little bad because tyler wanted to go outside and play so bad but we mad ehim take his nap, and they were setting up right outside his bedroom window. He was sooooooo excited to see his "way cool special Buzz buzz"

We had a great afternoon and eveining, take a look :)

I am sooooooooooo sad that I missed this, And I fully intend to scrap it later. Tyler had his first kiss at his party! It was soooooooo cute. his little girfriend and him just puckered right up and smooched. totally adorable. I didn't think he would actually do it since he wouldn't even hug the other little girls for their gifts, so no picture of the actually act, but here is a picture of the two of them...maybe her dad will stay in the Navy and the kids will meet up again and date, who knows?

Ahhh Monday. what a stressful day lol. First court hearing for cusotdy of tyler, which pretty nuch went in our favor which is fantastic. Then came the wedding. Both of us were freaking out. he was stresed, i was stressed-er (great word eh?lol) his mom locked the keys in the car, I forgot my ID....twice...Poor john was driving around loking for a fish market the burned down months ago and ended up getting a ticket. ahh the perfect ending to the perfect day right? so I let my MIL use my new camera and I forgot that this woman cannot take pictures with a one time use camera let alone a 6mpx minolta (my bad) so They didn't come out very well, but here is a layout im working on with the pics, its kinda lame up oh well.....HEY! no fat jokes ok!

The better pictures for our wedding, features in a primitave layout for now :) Posted by Picasa
Og course we haven't had a moment alone since we got married becuase MIL is here...and missed her flight so she had to stay an extra three days (hip hip horray )
This week should be better. I think the only thing were waiting on now is the baby...any day now...so pray that this kid comes soon! ok...MIL trying to talk to me and I can't do both at once so i'd better go. toodles :)

american boy

My latest scraplift. John bought me this amazing new camera this past weekend, so I was compeled to find things to take pictures of...dang, just tyler lol. Well, he'll be three tomorrow, and I wasn't going to take any pictures until his birthday party, but He was playing so goos outside. I went back to a tried and true kit, the american deams kit from Gina's Virtual ink CD. I scraplifted the layout from Suzys' gallery over at SBB. I like how it came out, but im not sure exactly what im going to so with it yet. Posted by Picasa

the nursery

well, this is our hallf a@*ed nursery. we just had no idea how huge this our bed was going to be when we bought it, it literally takes up our entire bedroom! so this is her little space next to my side of the bed. Im going to put some things up on the wall and I still have to get a mobile, but it's more or less ready. I used Hollys spring is comming kit, and a sketch from scrap maps turned on it's side :) Posted by Picasa

Can someone get Santino to make my babys wardrobe?!

I've been having fun working on My cousin's DD's baby album. But I have been stuck, waffling between papers and borders and blocking....colors and well...you know. Well, Holly came out with this great kit (spring is comming) and as soon as I had a balance in my paypal account I scooped it up! so this is what i've done with it so far...

I think I used just about every applicable accent that I could! It's based on this weeks Gina Miller sketch challenge, which was a pain becuase I suck at Curverd edges.

Well how about project runway! As far as im concerened Santino Got Robbed.
I really felt that he did such a great job on his collection. It was soft, it was edgy, I could see it at an actual store on actual people, and I loved the colors...And his 13th look? Fantabuouls!! Sheesh! I wish Santino ahd a line of maternity clothes so i could feel gorgeous again! But for Chloe to win was, in my opinion, ridiculous. How goofy was her first peice?! Any way I was slightly consoled by Nina Garcia saying telling him to never doubt that he should be in Fashion. I agree...I also think that Daniel V, Andre, and Nick have a place in fashion too. But Santino has my Fashion heart :)

Dr's update: Mostly she feels sorry for me lol. I am sooooooo swollen and can hardly walk at this point. My hands are so swollen and full of relaxin that It hurts to open and close them. they stay about half way all day. She checked me and while im not dialating yet (not that I should be but dang!) things are underway and I have "ripened "...so while labor isn't in my imediate future, it is getting closer.

Baby shower is this weekend, so we are going to walmart tomorrow to get a dresser for all of her stuff. Im getting so excited! It's so much fun to put away her tiny diapers and teeny socks. I can't wait actually wake up and she's really lying there in her bed...wow..any time now I guess as babys are so unpredictable :) keep your fingers crossed!

Oscars

Ok, did ya'll watch the academy awards last night? I only caught the last hour and a half or so....But I was irreparably disappointed! Are you kidding me?! Star Wars was only nominated once! And for a crappy catagory like best make up?! It's a damn conspiracy I tell you! Ok ok, so they can't exactly win for best score since it's like the same score from back in the day...But come on! How about visual effects? Best adaptation of a screen play? Best actor?! Hey...IM not kocking the winners ok. Resse and Phillip certainly deserved to win out of all the nominees, but do you really think it's hard to play a real life character as much as it is to play a fictional character?! At least with a real life character you can see video, and hear voice tracks...or if you're lucky like Reeese, you can spend actual quality time with them learning about how they act. But with a fictional character you have zip. you have to completely breathe life into a piece of paper and then come up with everything from a trademark walk to a line. Completely unfair! As far as Brokeback mountain is concerned, this is my personal opinion.... while I do not condone that particular life style, I have had several friends who opt for it, and that doesn't make them any less of people...I think they deserved every award they got....Yes it was a controversial film (how many these days aren't) but the point is, they told a story, and they told it well. Congrats to the entire crew from writers to actors to caterers how worked hard on something they knew would be a tough go.

Ok enough about the Oscars and Poor deprived star wars. It's March...and I think we crammed just about everything into this month that we possibly could. know clue how ti happened (seriously) but the next three weeks going to be one intense mother.

I printed off tylers birthday invitations yesterday. He's having a Buzz lightyear party with a bounce house this year. Hopefully his dad remembered to take them into the class room this moring. I still have to get cups and plates and crap like that but i'll wait until we get the rsvp's back.

I made 7 HUGE lists of things I have to get done before the Baby gets here. I made 4x6 cards for each of the rooms and wrote out in detail what I HAVE to get done there, and tacked 'em to the wall to make sure i'd remember. So there....that's a card a day...or three this week and four next week. (i'll spare you the boring details)

this week will probably be the most laid back week of all....Just chores, a DR appt, and My baby shower at the end of the week...but next week? Holy cow! i'll have to make one of those crazy to-do lists like i see on everyone's blogs these days to show you...and then the next week Johns mom is staying with us for a week....plus, all this month john is teaching classes so he has lesson plans to prepare and stuff like that.

I made a pan of brownies on Saturday. the dollar store has Duncan Hines peanut butter cup brownie mix right now. they were good. I told john I was making them for tyler, but how many do you actually think tyler got? ONE. one stinkin brownie, that he didn't even appreciate! Hence my justification of eating like three (2 inch size) brownies throughout the day, and just so I don't actually seem tooooo piggish, sending john off to work with the last one stafley tucked away in his lunch (which he'll call and say..."woman, you know i dont' need this" and proceed to eat it anyway.

well...Baby is getting more and more ready to come everyday. I was laying on my side last night, and I think she tried to sit up or something cause my entire left side just shot straight out, and boy does that hurt. The girls gonna be deadly with those boney shoulders and knees...I may need to some elbow and knee pads so That I'm protected LOL. Definitely low, definitely wants out...I truly will not be surprised if we have a baby by this day next month. now of course she'll profile be stubborn and wait...but you never can tell....maybe if i will it, think really hard about it and do some little old wives tale things here and there it would help to speed things along....then again maybe not. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Well guess who just woke up and is "poking around for some food" ? Better go feed the belly :)

Tylerisms

I love Tyler. He's not my flesh and blood, but I love him. Usually he can make my day alot happier and add some humor to it, though latley he's been more like an annoying little brother than a son. It must be this whole "almost three" thing he's going through. He doesn't want the responibility of being a big boy, but he doesn't want to be treated like a baby either.

Tyler love, love, loves Firemen. so anything to do with firetrucks, hats, and whatever else he just loves. So for Xmas I got him a fireman playset complete with gas mask, vest, hatchet, walkie-talkie(that of course) works and says like 5 (totally annoying) phrases.

the kid walked around like this for 2 days talking to his "talkie-talkie" and make weird darth vader like sounds in his gas mask. Occasionaly the "talkie-talkie" would be for me or daddy.

I don't where he gets this stuff, but sometimes he just comes off with the funniest stuff, even though we don't always want him to say some of these things, it just cracks us up and we have to hide our faces and choke down our laughs ...you know the drill.

  • first theres his thing with singing, which I totally encourage...just not at 7am on saturday morning...He has a Caillou doll that sings the theme song which if you've never heard, count yourself blessed becuase once it's in your head it aint goin nowhere. but if your curious or need to feel my pain click here to listen to it. so he presses the hand and caillou helps sing the song, then dumb ol' caillou has to encourage more pre-dawn singing with "now I want to here you sing my song" so tyler trys to sing most of it but ends up with
"hm hm hmmmmmmm hm hm hmmmm hm hm hm hmmmmm caiiiiiiilou!"
  • then theres Baby beluga seems to be his favorite song right now, but he can only remember the "baaaaby boooooluga oh baaaaaby booooooluga" part as he sings it. he was quite surprised to learn that I indeed knew the whole song, and it it got him laughing pretty good.
  • First thing he does when he comes home? Bob the builder.
  • Has to talk through EVRY SINGLE MEAL. i mean we must tell him like 15 times during the course of a 5 piece chicken nugget dinner, "no more talking, just eat!" but he talks anyway.
  • no matter where he is he HAS ro know what everbody else is doing. from the bathtub we hear "Daddy.....hey daaaaady.....DADDY! whatcha doin'?" from the potty, same thing. we've started putting up the baby gate to his room at night before we go to sleep to that he can't surpise us in the morning with a "whatcha doin'". Private time?! ya right! the kid could be contently watching tv and we'll seek off for a moment, close the door, and not two seconds later theres little hands on the door and a concerned, "hey Juli, whatcha doin' in ner?" Bathroom too..."Daddy? you k? whatcha dooooin?" thank goodness for locks!
  • recently hes started talking back but that was comming sooner or later I guess.
  • the other day at the grocery store while passing the beer aisle, he says to me, "look juli, daddys soda!"
  • I had to walk a couple feet away to put something back on the shelf and saud something to the effect of" i'll be right back baby" to which he firmly stated, "im not the baby anymore!"
  • everytime we walkpast baby clothes he says "ooooh look, thats babys stichers clothes huh" or if we go past baby toys or shoes or whatever..it's all for "baby sticher"
  • "daddy, daddy look k...es for baby sticher...don't touch, es not yours k?"

oh well....I think the babys first word will be no since we say ti around here so much. i feel bad that we don't say yes enough, but i'ts all about getting straight who the boss is right now, and getting rid of some of his bad habits before the baby comes. Oh hes cute when he's smiling...but when not in front of the camera or asleep, he's hell on wheels!
